Elephant
This piece is one of my favorites. I created a drawing of an elephant then used ink and watercolors to add color to it. I used a different technique where I would lay down the ink onto the paper, add water, then take paper towels and dab around the area to give it a rough looking texture similar to a real elephant. The hardest part was creating the eye. I wanted the eye to look realistic and give the viewer the feel that the elephant was looking at them so that they would feel a connection with my art. I created this piece in high school and it was purchased during an art show by my art teacher.
